Cinemagic Quiz (The KHAN Special)

Cinemagic Quiz (The KHAN Special)

Initially planned as an Indo-American affair, Aditya Chopra wanted to cast Tom Cruise for the role of Raj Malhotra (named as a tribute to Raj Kapoor). But he had to re-work on his story as Yash Chopra didn't approve that idea. Then the Indianised character was offered to Saif Ali Khan who turned it down. Then SRK was signed.

QSQT had one of the most innovative ad campaigns in Indian Film history. The most famous one of the hoardings of the film had no photographs, just this line: ‘Who is Aamir Khan? ...Ask the girl next door.’

Vikram Bhatt-directed ‘Madhosh’, released in 1994, marked the debut of producer Tahir Hussain’s younger son, Faisal Khan as a lead-actor. Curiously enough, Tahir Hussain produced a movie having the same name exactly 20 years earlier. That 70’s movie was directed by Desh Gautam and starred Mahendra Sandhu, Reena Roy & Rakesh Roshan. Curiously enough, Aamir Khan appeared as a younger Mahinder Sandhu in a flashback sequence in that movie.

It now comes as a surprise that Sooraj Barjatiya was not very happy with Salman Khan’s first audition for ‘MPK’. In an interview, Sooraj has mentioned that Salman looked ‘small’ to him. Looking at his portfolio pictures, he decided to do a screen test with him. Dejected with the result, he started looking for another actor to play the role. Salman, too, started suggesting names for other actors. However, it was this gesture that touched Sooraj and he decided to go ahead with Salman as the lead of his film.

My 3rd book overall but my first on movies, it is a humble effort from a fan-boy to relive some of the fantastic (and also not-so-fantastic) Khan-moments in the form of some interesting quiz questions.

If you are a Bollybuff, especially a Khan-atic, then you can have it in your bookshelf.

My First Interview My first outing as a Quiz Master at BIT Mesra during their annual Tech-Fest, Pantheon-2018 was a truly memorable one. Right from the reception to hospitality to stage-management - everything was absolutely spot-on. The outing was more memorable because I have experienced a certain first in my life.
